Water Quality Monitoring

Water Quality Monitoring

We do not have enough trained volunteers or water quality testing kits. We get both training and testing kits from Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). The program there is underfunded and we are waiting on the next available slot for training. As slots do become available, we will offer them to the next people in the waiting list.

In the meantime, we have asked for and received permission to train with the Stream Team at San Marcos. Generally, they offer one Standard Core Training each month. Visit their website to learn the basics of water monitoring @ https://www.meadowscenter.txst.edu/leadership/texasstreamteam/trainings-programs/standardcore.html  You should familiarize yourself with the information on this page and then sign up for a Standard Core Training event. The training calendar is located @ https://teamup.com/ksos37y3n9acgt5pk5

Water Quality Monitoring requires a two year commitment and monthly water monitoring. Do you see yourself doing this kind of Citizen Science? If so, submit your contact information below.
